Annual Canvass
Complete your card!
The Office of the Registrars of Voters in Hartford conducts an annual Canvass of registered voters each year as required by law. Participating, will ensure that the information that the Registrars have on the Official Registry List is correct and up to date. It will also allow the voter to have a pleasant experience at the polls on election day. Protect your right to vote. When you receive the "Notice of Canvass" card, we ask you to fill it out, sign it and send it back to us.

La Oficina del Registro de Votantes de Hartford realiza un escrutinio annual de Votantes registrados cada ano, segun 10 exige la ley. Participantes velara por que la informacion que los Registradores tengan en el Listado Oficial de Registro sea correcta y este actualizada. Tabien permitira al elector tener una grata experiencia en las urnas el dia de las elecciones. Proteja su derecho al voto. Cuando reciba la tarjeta de "Aviso de escrutinio", Ie pedimos que la complete, la firme y nos la envie.

Code of Ethics
PURSUANT TO CONNECTICUT PUBLIC ACT 07-194, THE SECRETARY OF THE STATE HEREBY ESTABLISHES THE FOLLOWING CODE OF ETHICS. THIS CODE IS REQUIRED TO BE PLACED CONSPICUOUSLY IN EACH POLLING PLACE AND IN THE OFFICE OF THE REGISTRARS OF VOTERS.
EVERY ELECTION OFFICIAL IN THIS STATE SHALL:
- Provide non-partisan voting assistance to any registered voter in the polls
- Provide non-partisan assistance to any registered voter concerning how to operate voting equipment
- Provide non-partisan assistance to any registered voter in a language other than English where required by federal or state law
- Provide non-partisan assistance regarding the process for restoring a voter's right to vote if the voter was incarcerated for a felony conviction
- Allow any registered voter the opportunity to cast a ballot if the voter is in line when the poll is declared closed
- Maintain a polling place that allows any registered voter to vote free from coercion or intimidation
- Maintain a polling place that allows any registered voter the opportunity to vote independently and privately at a polling place, regardless of physical disability
- Agree to uphold the Federal Constitution, the Constitution and the laws of the State of Connecticut and the regulations, procedures and instructions provided by the Office of the Secretary of the State
- Participate in all training necessary to effectively and properly carry out his/her duties competently
- Conduct him/herself. in a professional manner demonstrating dignity and respect for all voters
- Protect voter privacy by ensuring that each voter is offered a privacy folder for their ballot and that privacy booths are positioned sufficiently apart so that polling place personnel and other votes cannot see how individual votes are being cast
